Remember me? Oh, what a slacker I am. I have been totally uninterested in blogging lately, and then tonight I started making designs for it and decided to say hello. There are the things that have happened in the last few months:

- My Mom had ovarian cancer and thyroid cancer and had then both removed, and miraculously didn't need any
further treatment than the surgeries (thus far)...! Can you say blessed? It's a much more detailed story and a long emotional journey than I'm making it sound, but if you don't already know it, it'll give you a good reason to call or email me!

- Jake is back in school.

- Betsy is getting her molars.

- Lily has her first crush(s).

- I'm forever doing Weight Watchers.

- Lily wants to start Karate (?)

- Betsy had her first ear infection.

- It rained. A LOT!

- LOST started again. (sigh!)

- We are still happy here in CA.

Princess Lily is 4!

Lily turned 4 this last Tuesday. I can't believe she's already this old! She is really into princesses and all things girly, so this Birthday her Aunt Jessica and Uncle Eric came down and went to Disneyland with us. Lily got a Belle dress and accessories for her birthday and so we took some pics in her dress all dolled up by her castle. ) For dinner we went over to Califonia Adventure and had dinner at "Ariel's Grotto". It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. It's a little girl's dream come true! They serve a 3-course meal and all of the princesses come and mingle and take pictures at your table! Lily could not believe it! Her excitement was worth every penny. Her Grandma and Grandpa Lamph bought her an annual pass, which means I can stop sneaking her in under a blanket in the stroller pretending she's asleep....! :-) Today we had a little princess tea party with some little friends from school and church. I'll post those pics later.

Wow, I cannot believe it's been a whole year! It's been a crazy year for us, so I think that made it whiz by even faster. We had a low key party for her a few days after her actual Birthday because she woke up sick on her Birthday. Sad, I know. :-( She had fun stuffing her mouth with cake though! And she loved the shoes, and dollies she got and the blanket her Grandma made! I finally got around to taking her 1-year pictures the other day, so here are a few!

Alright, are you an MJ fan? (Michael Jackson, for the lame people). Then listen up! I was downloading some Halloween music for my kids and starting listening to "Thriller". I thought to myself, "its about time I learn the dance! I bet I can find it on Youtube". So I looked it up and found this whole crazy "Thriller" world. Apparently they have an organization that organizes events to set the Guinness Book of world records for the amount of people doing the Thriller dance at the same time! I'm in love, and I'm soooooo doing this! There is a tutorial on Youtube that breaks it down into very easy steps and you can repeat it over and over as many times as you want until you get it. I've spent 2 hours tonight learning it and getting a good workout too! It's not hard, but the repetition makes you sweat. I WILL get it perfect so that on Saturday, October. 24th, 2009 at 5:30pm I can show off my Thriller moves with a bunch of zombies, and you should too! Who is in?? If you're in California, email me so we can go together. They do it all over the world and all over the US, so you can for sure find an event near you. Go to the website to get all the info and then go to this Youtube link and get learning! If you can't make it to an event, then at least get some friends together, learn it and do it at the designated time. You can go to their website and find the right time for your time zone, and you can even sign up to host the event in your area. Comment if you're in. Let's make Michael proud.

Show and Tell: Lily Style

Lily has "show and tell" each week at preschool. Last week she was to share her favorite thing. We thought chocolate was a good idea, since I've never seen a 3-year-old consume so much, and her Aunt Katie who was visiting suggested we bring a little chocolate to share with the class. I got it all ready to go, but then Lily ran in her room and grabbed a picture off her nightstand that she has taped to the side of it next to her bed and said she HAD to bring this. I kind of moaned thinking, "what will her teachers think", since they are in our ward, but I realized it was one of her favorite things and she really does love it. It's a picture that my Dad took for a singer that he knows. She was doing some promo stuff and asked him to do some shots. Lily knows all about the people in the pic: Koko, Kandy and Synammen Jenkins! :-) When I picked Lily up from school, I asked her teachers what they thought of her "show and tell" item, and Miss Heather told me ALL about it! Lily said they were Grandpa's friends and told them their names, and how one of them had to leave the band, etc. I can only imagine their initial reaction! I had to give them a little background about how my Dad is a musician and is into photography, so that it didn't sound so crazy! Kids.

We were in Vegas last weekend to see family and so I could work a little. Saturday, I was outside cutting my Mom's hair and came back in the house to witness this! Yes, that's a doll stroller, and Betsy bent the metal! Haha. I actually considered taking it with me for when we go places--make Lily do all the work. How great would that be? :-)

New Beginning...

I'll admit, I've been neglecting our blog for the past 2 months. But give me a break! We just moved! There is so much I've skipped that I'm not even gonna try to back track, I'm just going to give a brief update and move on from there. So, We have successfully moved to Southern California. Jake has been in Law school for over a month now and has survived. Lily has started Preschool, Dance and gymnastics, all the with her cousin Meg, and loves it all. Betsy is a crawling maniac and is the definition of a Dyson. She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. And the teething...Ah! I'm busy being a Mom and keeping things in order. I think sometimes that having a jail sentence wouldn't be that bad. :-) We had a busy summer: Hawaii, Canada, packing, moving, unpacking, etc., and we are ready to slow down a bit....hopefully. We really are enjoying it here so far, and have even discussed staying when Jake is done with school. It's fun have Kerry and Nate and all the cousin just down the street, and Disneyland and the beach near too. Here are some pics of Betsy with my Great-Aunt's walker from our trip to Santa Barbara a few weekends ago, and Lily's first day of school...tears and all!

Okay, My little photo blog, Jamiliajean.com, is back up and running, so make sure to check it out! We are back from our annual Canada trip, and pictures are not far behind! We have been super busy since coming back from Hawaii,and packing up our house to move to California. For those of you that didn't know, Jake got in to law school, so we will be there for the next 3 years! Betsy and the Piercing Pagoda

Sorta sounds like a adventure novel! Anyway, Betsy has reached the age of becoming a lady. It was definitely time to pierce those cute little earlobes. I find little girl babies with pierced ears so cute and feminine. If you are contemplating doing it, just do it. We went down to the Meadows ("Ghetto") mall and stopped at the Piercing Pagoda for some "fun". Britney and Jaren Jensen brought Clara along for some torture too! (I'll let her blog about that.) I know it may look like child abuse from the pictures, but honestly, she was only crying while Jake was holding her head still and stopped the second it was all over. Glad it's done.

Lone Mountain

Lone Mountain is a smaller mountain near our house in Vegas. One day, Jake decided to take the kids, including the dog, on a little hike! I didn't even know he took the camera until the other day I was uploading some pics to the computer and found these. It made me laugh really hard, and I thought I'd share them.

The Sea Life Park

A few days before we left the island for good, we visited the Sea Life Park. We had told Lily that it was like Sea World, only smaller. She just HAD to go, and wouldn't stop talking about it. It's a fun place for kids, and one of the nice things about it is it's small and personal, and you get an up close look at all the animals. Plus, they house the one and only "Wholphin" in the whole word. (Yes, it's a dolphin and a Whale mixed, but it really just looks like a giant dolphin with a little bit of killer whale in it.) Jake and Lily paid to feed the Sea Lions, but then Lily got a little stage fright when it came to touching the little dead fish to feed them. She was NOT having it! We really enjoyed ourselves though and we thought it was very worth it!

Honolulu Aquarium

The Honolulu Aquarium is a nice little place to visit in Waikiki. It's pretty small, but fun and worth the trip, especially since it's only like $8 or something like that. They have a Sea Dragon which was really amazing and hard to explain. The pic I posted of it doesn't do it justice!

First broken bone!

Yes, it's true! Poor little Lilers broke her collar bone! We went to a skate park one night up on the northshore. Some friends of ours bring a generator and big lights to skate at night, since it's not lit up. A bunch of guys were skating in the bowls which look like big empty swimming pools. While Jake was busy skating and I was taking pictures of him, and the others, Lily was hanging out with Aunt Karly, Carrie, Joel and Valerie, and accidentally slipped and fell into the only one that didn't have lights! I'm not sure exactly how she landed, but she was crying pretty good. I think mostly scared! I was worried that she might have a concussion, so we took her to the ER. She started complaining that her shoulder hurt, so when we got there they x-rayed her and and sure enough she had an obvious break in that cute little clavicle. I wish I would have gotten the x-ray because it was so cute to see that tiny little skeleton! Our service at the Kahuku hospital wasn't exactly topnotch, as you can tell from the pics below...eg: the nice peeling paint on the walls! Our "Doctor" looked a lot like Jabba the Hut in a Aloha shirt, messy gray hair and googly eyes. I got into a little tiff with him on is competency level, and left early. Good thing I have an awesome pediatrician in Vegas...(Check out the ode to Doctor Conti below!) It's been about a month since the incident, and Lily is doing fine. They don't do much for broken collarbones, so she has just been careful not to bump it. She hasn't even mentioned it for like a week.

Ode to Dr. Ralph Conti

I truly love him! He is the best Pediatrician in Vegas. Possibly ever! While we were in Hawaii we had a few medical issues, for instance, the broken bone, and he was so willing in help, even in the middle of the night! He makes sure you have his cell and pager number and to call him if there is ever a problem. I would have been a wreck if he hadn't been so helpful during this whole ordeal. He diagnosed the problem from the very vague description I gave him, even before the "Doctor" in Hawaii saw her. I have gone to him with a very wide variety of problems and concerns, mostly me being me and freaking out, and he is always there in calm me down. He's hilarious, and happy and always whistling and seems like he's never been happier to see you! If you are looking for a wonderful pediatrician, check him out. He has offices all over the valley. Thanks Dr. Conti!

Maunawili Falls

In Kailua, there is a hike called Maunawili Falls. It's only about a 2.5 mile hike in, and at the end is a waterfall and fresh water pool with cliffs to jump off and go swimming. The Nelsons were visiting and so we decided to go! Jake carried the our "lead baby" in the carrier, which wasn't an easy task, and Lily even did it with a broken collar bone, with a little help from Karly. (More on the broken collar bone to come...) It's a very muddy hike, and it's completely unavoidable to not get dirty. I know what you're thinking,...good thing there's a place to swim at the end and clean off. Little did I know that the mud and water possibly contain a bacteria called Leptospirosis! It comes from animals in the area peeing in the water. Its not a common occurrence but it really freaked me out for like a week! It was a beautiful place though.

Waimea Weekend

This last weekend we did a lot of "Waimea-ing". It's a beautiful bay on the north shore. The beach in this area is the best and just across the street is Waimea Valley where the falls are. my sister, Jessica, and her Husband, Eric, came for a visit for a little over a week, and we had a ton of fun! Here's a little re-cap of our adventures...

Waimea Beach is my favorite beach! We go there pretty often. The day we took these pictures, the water was a little rough and the waves were big! We got some cool shots though. Lily didn't mind, she just stayed ashore. She's a sand monster these days. She does venture in the water sometimes if she's feeling brave!

Waimea Falls is in a valley that is very lush and beautiful! We enjoyed the mile walk up to the falls and since they were open for swimming that day, a few of us had a dip! They film parts of LOST here, for those of you that are fans.

Oh, the Honolulu Zoo! We bought a year family pass for a whopping $25! It was really fun to take Lily because she can identify all the animals, and called the Tiger-- Shear Khan, the Meerkats--Timon, the Bear--Baloo...etc!

Other people got a kick of it too. It's a smaller zoo and not very crowded, so we had a nice and stress free time.

There will be plenty of other trips there, I'm sure. Also, note the last picture... an Obama head? Looks kind of like it to me. :-) He was in the crocodile exhibit...seems fitting.

Okay, we've been a teensy bit busy since we got here! Jake has started school and likes it, but feels it's a weird adjustment from going to work everyday instead. I like it because he gets Tuesday and Thursday off, and we can go play together. We have adjusted to the time difference, (3 hrs earlier than Pacific time) which was difficult with the kids, but it seems alright now. We had a little rough patch with some colds, sunburns, and pinkeye, but have recovered...hopefully! It feels good to be back here,(we are living just kittycorner from our old house). Hawaii makes us happy! It is a whole new ball game with children though! Things take a little more preparation than they used to be here. Lily loves the beach and playing in the sand and waves, and Betsy is starting to sit up on her own, so she gets a new view of things. I will try to post more regularly--mostly just for me so I can remember all this! These pics below are just odds and ends of our adventures here. We are back in Hawaii. It's good to be here, and strange to come back 4 years later with two kids! We love the house we are renting...it was definitely a pleasant surprise! We are still getting situated, but we have things settled, we'll take some pics!

Easter weekend

We had an eventful weekend celebrating Meg's 3rd Birthday, and also Easter. Saturday morning we had a little Princess party for Meg, complete with decorating crowns, and even dying and decorating Easter eggs.

As soon as the party was over, the extended family came over for an egg hunt. Junk food overload! The Zobrist family tradition is to wake up before dawn on Easter morning and go up to redrock....Calico Basin to be exact, and watch the sunrise and have a little service with the whole family, and after have breakfast. It's actually quite a wonderful tradition. Sadly, this year our presence was nil because the kiddies woke up with fevers. No fun! Hopefully next year though! Valentine's Weekend

For Valentine's Day, we had a very romantic day at California Adventure with a lot of kids running around. :-) Okay, so it wasn't THAT romantic. Haha. Fun though! As you might have noticed, we went to Disneyland about a month ago, and had 2 for one passes to California Adventure that had to be used within 30 days. They were about to expire, so we headed down to Cali for a little jaunt with the cousins. We stayed in Chino Hills with family, and then met the rest at the park the next day. It got pretty cold, and we had to improvise warm clothes! Sunday we had fun just hanging out, and then went to my Uncle Mark's house in Anaheim Hills, where he has a bunch of farm animals...but not a farm exactly. The kids enjoyed it!

Disneyland on a rainy day

Last Saturday we went to Disneyland with the cousins! It was a pretty rainy day, which made it less crowded on a Saturday, and everyone knows you can't beat that. Betsy enjoyed riding around in the baby bjorn for the first time, but said that Dumbo was her favorite real ride! :-) All of the kids loved jumping in the puddles everywhere, which resulted in buying new socks for everyone half way through the day. Rain or shine, Disneyland is still the happiest place on earth!

Literally. So, Lily just started a dance class last week, Tap, Ballet and a little bit of tumbling and of course I was there snapping pictures like a crazy mom! :-) How could I not? The parents aren't allowed in the actual dance room, so forgive the lines on the window that I tried to blur out! She absolutely loved it! She got right in there and acted like she'd been doing it, and known all the little girls in the class all along! She asks me everyday if it's tuesday yet, or if she can go to dancing again!

Blessing Betsy...And Levi too!

We blessed our precious Betsy boo on the 28th of December, along with her cousin Levi that I mentioned in the post below, who is a month younger than her. We did it at Jake's Parents house and not in church, which I must say was pretty nice! It seemed more private and special. We had some relatives that traveled in from Utah, despite the blizzards! Thanks for coming guys! I just realized that I haven't posted any really good pics of Betsy in a while, so here are some new ones. She has gotten so big! I took her to her 2 month check-up (even though she's 10 weeks..) and she weighed 11.10 lbs, and 23 inches long! 3 pounds in a month! I can't believe it! Maybe I'll actually get lucky and have a chubby baby, since anyone who knows Lily knows she's a string bean and always has been. I want one with rolls! :-)

No, just Cousins. I was loading pics on to my computer and saw these that I had taken and forgotten about. It makes me laugh! This is Betsy and her cousin Levi that is just a month younger than her! There is also Eliza who was born a month after Levi, but she's in Hawaii so far away and we have yet to see her in person. Soon though! These pics were taken on their blessing day. We had a great Christmas! Lots of family and friends. We spent Christmas Eve with Jake's family at their traditional family party, and then spent the night at my parents house. Santa over did it for Lily despite her coloring on the walls at home with blue marker a few days before. He must really like her...! Lily was a little timid Christmas morning, but soon got into it and she was hard to stop! Betsy was just happy sucking on her Binky. After the "first" Christmas morning, we headed back to Jake's parents house, and did it all over again! Hope you all had a Merry one!

I'm probably the millionth person to blog about the Vegas snow, but I bet there aren't any pictures of it as cool as mine! :-) My sister in Law, Karly, MADE me do it....I was driving the car though, so I guess I was pretty willing. It took forever to get to the sign because everyone in Vegas was driving slow because of the snow, and I almost gave up. But Karl stayed focused and kept her eye on the prize, and it was worth it! Who knew Target was so culturally diverse that they make Hanukkah dog toys for even the Jewish dog? So, Lily and I were walking around the store and came upon the above toy. She grabbed it and looked at it a little confused and then said,'What is this? A Dinosaur foot?" I laughed so hard I had to stop pushing the cart. It was obvious from my reaction that her assumption was wrong, so then she said, " Oh, I think it's a brush."--that made me laugh harder. I mean, where would she have seen a Menorah before? I love that her little brain put that together. I still can't stop giggling. I had to take a pic with my phone so that the story would make sense. It just struck me so funny! But maybe it's just me, because Jake didn't find it so hilarious!...

I'm a lifetime member at Weight Watchers...and proud of it! Betsy is 5 weeks old, and I wanted to start the weight loss journey early, and especially going into the Christmas season. I gave myself a freebie through Thanksgiving, but now it's time to get serious. I never fully lost all the weight I wanted after Lily, I just didn't buckle down. But this time is gonna be different! I'm gonna be honest, I have roughly 25 lbs. to lose to get to my goal weight. Today was my first day back, and since I'm a lifetimer, which means I've done the program before (about 4 years ago I lost 25 lbs.) and I just had a baby, they give me 12 weeks free to get back to goal weight. I think I can do it. I'm being very public about this because I feel like it makes me more accountable. I'll post periodic updates of how much I've lost. I'm hoping I can do it in my 3 month free time frame! If you want to do it with me, I'd be more than happy to go to the meetings with you! Let me know!! The journey begins...!!!

I took some pics yesterday. Get your fill now cuz I'm not doing anymore photoshoots of her for 2 whole weeks! :-) I figured at month would be a good time to do another one.
Things are going pretty good. I'm trying to work my way through the "baby blues"...or whatever you want to call 'em. Mostly just anxiety and emotional. I dont know how a newly postpartum mom would not get it with the lack of sleep and all! I pretty much feel zombie-ish to be honest. But it's all good! She's a good baby, and Lily is starting to feel better after a week of being sick. That's enough to overwhelm anyone!
Trying to separate Lily from Betsy is a task! She just loves her and goes crazy if I don't let her help out. I just can't stand the thought of a sick 2-week-old baby though. Anyways, here's another bout of pictures of Betsy in all her cuteness!

Okay all you whiners, I'm finally posting some new pics! I'll take some time soon to take some good ones, but I'm still trying to cope and get it through my head that I have 2 kids now! It's a little overwhelming, and I think I might be a little under the weather on top of that. I'm tired! We are adjusting though, and all of us are enjoying and loving our new addition! We're just working out the kinks. Beats being pregnant!!:-) Lily is a wonderful big sister and is totally in love with her. I also want to give some background on her name: Betsy Anjillena. Betsy was my great-grandmothers name, and she only had one sister and her name was Lily. Also, before my Gramme died in April, I told her that I loved Betsy, which was her mom, and she was really excited. So It's kind of a tribute to them. Gladys was my Gramme's name, and I just couldn't...! Anjillena (pronounced Angelina...Taylor...) is a combo of my Mom, Jill and Jake's Mom Angela! So there you go! She had her first post- hospital doctor appointment yesterday, and is doing good. She is the same weight as her birth weight, which is great! So, until I get some more pics, and mostly, feeling up to doing it, this is what you get. Enjoy!

I haven't done any book reviews in ages, And someone reminded me the other day of that, so I thought I'd get going again. Pregnancy has really distracted me. So here are some of the books I've read lately, and my ratings to go along with it.

- The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale....A! Loved it! Must read. (Plus, it has at least 2 or 3 that go along with it.

- Dean Koontz's Frankenstein by Dean Koontz...B-! It was a fun, modern twist on Frankenstein, but the third in the series has yet to be written, and the first didnt interest me enough to read the 2nd.

- Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer...A! Who hasn't read this book? Do I even need to review it? I loved it, although I've heard many mixed reviews.

- The Book of Lies by Brad Meltzer...A! I thought this book was awesome. I love when Authors have to do research to make their stories complete. I love a little fiction in with Non-Fiction. It totally showed in this book. I'm really interested in his other novels now. I will for sure check them out. It had a little "Da Vinci Code" feel to it.

I hate being pregnant! It's no secret. I'm in a bad mood, and I thought maybe venting a little would relieve some tension. We'll see. I'm about a month away from my due date. I'm so uncomfortable already I wanna cry all day. I think mostly it just makes me pissed! I went to the doctor this morning, and there hasn't been any progression...barely any thinning out and no dilating. Also, I'm going to start closing my eyes when I stand on the scale. There's no good in knowing exactly how fat I'm getting and counting all the weight I have to lose. Weight Watchers is gonna get rich off me...even with the three months I get for free after having a baby since I'm a lifetime member (and proud of it!) It's gonna take me longer than that! I'm having complete mixed emotions...I feel so not ready for this baby, and at the same time I want her out. Ugh.(I'm starting to feel a little better...). It feels so far away, and way too soon all at the same time. If I go to the doc in 2 weeks and still nothing is happening, I guess I'm gonna start jumping on trampolines, riding motorcycles, or anything that would get this kid out!!! (I'm hungry now.) Any words of encouragement?

This entry is dedicated to the lady who runs Miracle In Progress...Which is an ultrasound imaging center. They basically do gender checks and 3D and 4D ultrasound pics for babies in utero! My sister-in-law Katie had one done there a while ago, and they told her (a little too early...12 weeks) that it was a boy, and when she had her 18 week one done by her Obstetrician, they said it was a girl. (It's for sure a girl, by the way). So, she swindled the nice lady into doing a double check, just to make sure! I went along, and when her turn was up, the owner, (I can't remember her name), asked me if I wanted a little peek at little "Twinkle"....for free. Well of course! (Not that she'd do that for everyone, I'm pretty likable...) Her Pricing isn't that bad, and she may just cut you a deal! These are the pics she got of her in 3D. It's amazing to me how much she looks like Lily as an infant!! It's nuts. It makes me even more excited to finally meet her, and it's coming quick! I'm 33 weeks...not too much longer! If you're interested in finding out the sex of your baby before your official ultrasound, or want a 3D and 4D look at that little person beating the crap out of your insides, check this place out!

We're back from our wonderful trip! Since leaving Hawaii when we moved back to Vegas, I have frequent withdrawals, and beg Jake to go back to Visit! He usually resists, but since it was my birthday, and I'm also at the last point of being able to fly, due to pregnancy, we decided to go for it. It was just what I needed! I thought I would die leaving Lily behind with my parents for a week, since I cried all the way to the
airport, but once we got to Oahu, I realized it was gonna be nice! It also helped that Lily wanted nothing to do with me, and wouldnt even talk to me on the phone because she was having so much fun with her grandpa and grandma! We stayed at our old house with Katie and Brent in the back house, and they even installed an air conditioner inthe room we were staying in! I haven't had quality naps like that in forever!!! We did all the stuff we loved: Waimea Beach (My favorite), Turtle Bay on Labor Day, Matsumotos Shave Ice, And on my birthday we went into town, (Honolulu/ Waikiki) and ate dinner. It was nice to wear a bikini top and let it "All hang out". It was great, relaxing and I hope we don't wait 2 years to go back again. Next time it'll be with kids....yes, kids! (I can't believe that still). Lily would love it there! Here are some pics from our getaway! Back to reality now. Boo...Hiss!

Breaking Dawn Midnight Party!

Have you gotten the book yet? Wow! It's pretty crazy already, and I'm only on like page 200! Well, friday night my long time friend and fellow "twilighter",Britney, convinced me to go to the midnight release of "Breaking Dawn" at Border's Books. So, at around 10:30pm, Britney, My sister-in-law Kerry, Britney's sister-in-law Katie and Brit's husband Jaren, along with two little night owls, Lily and her cousin Meg, jumped in the car and went to the party! It was funny to see how everyone was so into it, dressed up as characters from the book, and anxiously awaiting the books arrival. There was a costume contest, and a raffle to be the first, second and third people in line to get books at 12:01am. We didn't dress up, but we did enter the raffle of course, and since Lily and Meg are such fans of the book, they entered too! :-) We had fun hanging out at the bookstore, and considering that most 2-year-olds are asleep at 10:30pm, we had the whole kid's section to ourselves! They gave out vampire fangs, and Edward and Bella stickers. It was quite an event!

They announced over the intercom about a half hour before the release that Kerry Hogle was the winner to be the 2nd person in line to get the book! We were laughing and excited especially since there was a least 100+ people there and we hadn't reserved a copy previously. We ran up to the front just as they were gonna pull another ticket for the second place in line, since we weren't up in the front waiting for the winners. But, as we said "she's here!" the whole crowd sighed. Haha! Then, they pulled the next ticket, and the lucky winner for the third place in line was none other than Meg Hogle!....Kerry's 2-year-old daughter. Even funnier! Our entire gang made our way up the front of the line and waited for the magical moment! There wasn't a limit on how many books you could buy, so Kerry and "Meg" bought 2 books each, and we were out of there in no time! It couldn't have been better. Here's the count down to the book release...it was very secure.

Crazy Legs!

Let me first say that This title has two meanings. First, Lily had a good time making my legs "pretty" While I was talking on the phone last night! She decorated me with markers I didn't know I had...(I'm still unsure where she found them...) and Dora stickers! I tried to shoo her away when I saw her coming with them, but after a while she convinced me that my legs needed some special attention, and went to work! Washable marker is harder to get off then one would imagine! It took quite a bit of exfoliation. Now, since my legs are very colorful in these pics, it's hard to see the giant bruises on my knees. Here's the second reason for the crazy legs title!...This is a story that's too embarrassing not to share. Okay, I was leaving my salon while holding my keys and a drink. I bravely stepped off the sidewalk to get to my car, and apparently there must of been an earthquake or something because I completely tripped and belly flopped into the street! But not before crashing into someones car and setting off the alarm! My keys and lemonade went flying, and I laid in the street trying to figure out if I killed the baby or not. I'm pretty sure I caught most of the fall on my knee caps because I have some nice battle wounds to show for it! (The baby is still kicking and I heard the heartbeat the other day so I know she's fine :-)...) The only other person who saw me fall was another pregnant girl...she ran over and made she I was alright.) Then, the persons car alarm I set off came out of the nail salon next door, gave me the dirtiest look known to mankind, turned it off, and walked back inside! After I made it to my car, I laughed. It must have looked hilarious. Jake is convinced that I tripped because I couldn't see my feet...my belly isn't THAT big yet!

'08 Canada Trip!

Our first morning in Canada! It was about 11am when the ice cream party went down. Who wouldn't want chocolate ice cream then? :-) Lily was obviously liking it...! We had a really fun time hanging out in Canada this year. The weather was amazing, and it was nice to be out of the sweltering heat for a week. The cousins had fun playing, beating each other up, playing on the playground, going on bike rides, etc. For those who don't know, we go to Canada every summer. Waterton, Alberta, Canada to be exact. Jake's family has a beautiful cabin there. I'm not really that outdoorsy, but I enjoy it a lot besides the hikes. Honestly, I could do without those. :-) So, the next few posts are blurbs from our trip. Why can't it be 75 degrees in Vegas in the summer?

A stroll to Cameron Falls

Jake, Lily and I took a walk down to Cameron Falls which is literally about 50 feet away from the cabin. It was a pretty warm day, and considering that I'm always feeling like its 15 degrees hotter than it actually is lately, sitting by the waterfall seemed like a dandy idea! Plus, the falls are huge this year! They had record snow and so the run off is making it giant, and creates a lot of cooling mist in the area...perfect for me! Anyway, this a brief summary if that half hour.

So, on this day we thought we'd take a leisurely, and lovely boat ride across the lake and have a little burger bbq on a beach somewhere. It started it great! The weather was nice, and we found an area with a little dock, and the kids enjoyed running around on the beach half naked! Who wouldn't love that?:-) Things were good until we realized that the little bbq we brought was a propane bbq, and we brought charcoal! Jake and Aaron, being the eagle scouts that they are, built a fire and make the most amazing burgers you've ever had! We call them "hurricane burgers" because as soon as we started eating, huge black clouds blow right into our path along with gale force winds and rain! It was great!! And very memorable!

July 1st...Canada Day!

This is Canada's 4th of July. Minus the fireworks. We went to Aunt Carol's in Raymond for the festivities! It got a bit blustery that day, but I throughly enjoyed it! At one point the lightening and thunder was happening about the same time! We had a picnic and Carol's traditional rock hunt...which is similar to an easter egg hunt but includes blue, red and the elusive gold rock that no one thought exsisted. After you find all the rocks you can manage to hold, you trade them in for candy! It was a fun day.

My Pregnant Self

Oops, It's been a while since I've posted. Almost a month! I have a good one coming up with a lot of pics, so get ready. Until then, I thought I'd share a little belly pic since it's the only one taken so far this pregnancy. This is at 21 weeks. This pregnancy has been so different and the same as my last. First, I didn't have a little 2-year-old saying...verbatim: "You have a baby in your belly making you fat!", or, "You're a big honkin' Momma!", and my personal favorite, "You have a big butt!!"...as she slaps it. Second, The heartburn and indigestion! Goodnight! It's horrible. Third, I just love how my body remembers just what do. It's like, oh yeah, we're supposed to collect lots of fat around the hips and butt area! Let's start 2 months earlier than we did last time! I have gained as much weight as I did this far along with the last one, but I swear my body and belly "popped" out much faster this time around. My old maternity clothes are not fitting quite like they did. But, I must say that I'm much calmer this time. I don't have that anxiety that comes with being a new Mom, and that I love. I'm so excited to meet her, and I'm pretty sure she wants out because she's constantly swirling and kicking! Lily is excited too...her top names are Twinkle, Coconut, and Sunny. I'm not so sure about them...we'll see!

My Own Font!

Way back in February I was looking at my friend Brooke's blog, and she had put a post up about how she got her handwriting turned into a font! There is a website where you scan your handwriting and email it to them, and if they like it they'll make it a font and email it back to you! So, of course I had to try it! I scanned it and emailed it and within a few hours they had sent me my handwriting font! Cool, huh? I had forgotten about it, but I wanted to see if they put mine up, and they did, so if you're interested click the link below and check it out. Mine is called " Pea Zobrist". They also give instructions on how to turn your handwriting into a font if you want to try and send in a sample.

GIRL!! Yep, it's another girl. A little playmate for Lily! Lily told me all along it was a girl, and the ultrasound tech said that siblings and grandpas are always right! :-) We are excited for another one, especially since we're pretty much set for another female. I do hope we have a boy someday too though. Here are some pics of our little "skeletor". Oh, and uh, the lovely little word bubbles are a nice addition from my Dad when I asked him to scan them for me. Figures. :-) And for those of you who are wondering, I'm 18 weeks now, and I'm feeling so much better! I don't get that nauseous anymore, but a nice little friend decides to pop up every once in a while and it's name is heartburn! I didn't have it with Lily and I don't get it other than this pregnancy, but it sucks!!! It's painful. My mother-in-law introduced me to a nice remedy though....Panda brand Natural black licorice. It tastes nasty, but works wonders! Anyways, Hooray!...A girl!

Memorial Weekend in Baja Mexico

We had a really fun, and relaxing getaway this past weekend! I'm depressed that I'm doing this post from Vegas instead of Mexico, in fact. I think I could stay there all year long. My in-laws bought a house just south of Rosarito and north of Ensenada. It's right along a cliff over looking the beach. This kids had fun getting up in the morning and walking along the beach looking for sand dollars, and going over to the tide pools and finding crabs and starfish! I had fun just relaxing and eating at Tacos El Yaqui. This Taco joint in Rosarito is amazing, and I'm in love with their guacamole! Oh, cravings. We had a little car problem on sunday in the car we were supposed to drive back on monday, which extended our vacation another day until we could get it fixed, and NOBODY had a problem with that! :-) We all kept fighting to stay. The weather was great, breezy and warm, and it was nice to just hang out. I cannot wait to go back!

I'm just about 16 weeks pregnant now, and I just barely starting to feel a little better! So, in celebration of these events, I felt I should change our blog background to feel a little more happy! There's nothing better than not throwing up multiple times a day, and I should add that I haven't even been taking that much Zofran (The strongest anti-nausea and vomiting medicine they can give you while you're pregnant, and what they give cancer patients......and even that didn't work all the time!) I do have my bad moments still, but the improvement is worth mentioning! I've even started caring about my appearance a little more, I'm sure everyone is happy about that! :-)
